How Mission Bay Group Event Planning Works

  1. Share the essentials

    Send the occasion, preferred date and time, estimated guest count, age range, budget range and activities that interest the group.

  2. Approve the activity plan

    We confirm available equipment, rental durations, quantities, fees and event-day responsibilities. Large events generally lock final equipment counts 3 to 5 business days ahead.

  3. Check in and launch

    Plan to arrive 30 to 45 minutes early. The primary renter brings a government-issued photo ID and credit card, guests complete applicable waivers, and operators complete required safety steps.

Can our group combine several activities?
Yes. A group can combine compatible equipment in one schedule or rotate smaller teams through different activities. The exact mix depends on availability, rental minimums, staffing and the operating requirements for each item.
What works well for a group with mixed ages or activity levels?
A pontoon cruise, kayaks and paddleboards create approachable options, while eligible adults can add jet skis. Tell us the age range and mobility or comfort considerations so the proposed mix fits the group.
Who can rent and operate a WaveRunner?
The renter must be at least 21, and every operator must be at least 18 and complete the required safety process. A WaveRunner allows up to two riders with a 400-pound combined maximum. Review the jet ski safety preparation guide before the event.
How early should a large group arrive?
Plan to arrive 30 to 45 minutes before the scheduled activity time for check-in, waivers, equipment assignments and safety instructions. The primary renter must bring a government-issued photo ID and credit card.
Can MBSC arrange our venue, catering or wedding transportation?
Venue space, catering, food and beverage, layouts and venue services are booked directly with the selected venue or vendor. Mission Bay Sportcenter can separately coordinate confirmed watersports and rentals. A partner-operated charter or wedding arrival may be explored, but it requires operator availability, venue approval, suitable docking access, weather and local compliance.
What additional rental charges should we expect?
A 10% concession charge applies to every equipment-rental subtotal. Jet skis, pontoons and ski boats also have a 10% fuel charge. Your confirmed proposal will show applicable charges and any approved adjustment before the event is finalized.
Can we skip custom planning and book rentals online?
Yes. If your group already knows what it wants and does not need event coordination, compare the Mission Bay watersport rentals and use the live booking links on the individual activity pages.
