Meet us waterfront
Arrive about 30 minutes early at 1010 Santa Clara Place with a government-issued photo ID and credit card. Complete the required waivers and check-in.
Get cleared to sail
Our dock team reviews the boat and safety information, checks experience against current conditions, and explains the approved Mission Bay area before launch.
Good to know: A sailing certification is not required. Newer sailors may be a fit for the Capri 22, but launch approval always depends on the wind, conditions, and dock staff’s assessment. The rental is self-operated and stays inside Mission Bay.

Do I need sailing experience or a certification?
No certification is required. Capri 22 rentals may suit newer sailors after dock instruction, but wind, current conditions, and demonstrated ability determine whether staff approves the launch. This is a self-operated rental, not a captained tour.
How many people can come aboard?
Up to eight people total, including the person sailing the boat. If your group is larger, compare our other sailboats and catamarans or our pontoon rental for up to ten.
What is included, and what fees apply?
The boat, required life jackets, and standard dockside safety instruction are included with the base rental. A 10% concession charge applies to the sailboat rental subtotal. Where can we sail?
Rental sailboats remain inside Mission Bay. Stay out of the ocean, jetty, inlet, and designated swimming areas. Ask the dock team about the approved area, signs, buoys, and any bridge restrictions before departure; current staff directions govern your trip.
How early should we arrive, and what should we bring?
Plan to arrive about 30 minutes before your reserved start time. Bring a government-issued photo ID and credit card, allow time for parking, and complete all required waivers and boat checkout steps.
What if wind or weather changes?
Staff evaluates current conditions and may delay or decline a launch when sailing would be unsafe. If you have a weather question about your reservation, call (858) 488-1004 and review the terms shown in the booking flow.
Can we bring food or drinks?
Food and drinks are generally allowed aboard, but avoid glass. Anyone operating the boat must remain capable of sailing safely and follow staff instructions and applicable law.
