MBSC Youth Summer Camp in San Diego, California is a unique experience for all children. They will learn team building, sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking, surfing, and most importantly, Fun In The Sun!

4 to 5 Year Olds (Intro to Watersports)
This class introduces children to the world of water sports through sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, catamaran sailing and beach activities. Above all, beach awareness and water safety are taught and stressed throughout the week. Because our summer camp maintains a low child to instructor ratio, children will receive hands on experience in a safe and fun environment.

6 to 8 Year Olds (Jr. Multi-Sports)
This class introduces children to the world of water sports through sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, catamaran sailing and beach activities. Above all, beach awareness and water safety are taught and stressed throughout the week. Because our summer camp maintains a low child to instructor ratio children, will receive hands on experience in a safe and fun environment.

9 to 10 Year Olds (Junior Sailing)
Junior Sailing is an introduction to the concept of sailing. This class follows the same structure as our basic sailing classes, though it is geared for the younger child.

9 to 10 Year Olds (Junior Stand Up Paddleboard)
Students are introduced to the basic fundamentals of Stand up Paddle Boarding. Learn the basics of riding the SUP: handling, stance, paddling & maneuvering. Additionally, the class includes technical skills as well as bay and general aquatic awareness. Boards are provided or personal boards maybe used. This is definitely one of our most popular camps, therefore we recommend signing up early. Students must be able to swim and be very comfortable in the water.

11 to 16 Year Olds (Sail I)
Sailing I is intended for first time sailors or those who need a refresher. This class offers instruction in basic sailing theory, boat rigging, rules of the road, knots and terminology. Above all, safety is stressed as students practice in the exciting Hobie One and Holder 14.

11 to 16 Year Olds (Stand Up Paddleboard)
Students are introduced to the basic fundamentals and technical skills of Stand up Paddle Boarding. Learn the basics of riding the SUP: handling, stance, paddling & maneuvering. Above all, the class emphasizes bay and general aquatic awareness. Boards are provided or personal boards may also be used. This is definitely one of our most popular camps, therefore it’s recommended to sign up early. Students must be able to swim and very comfortable in the water.

11 to 16 Year Olds (Sail II)
Sailing II is a follow up to our Sailing I class, or for campers with equivalent skills, therefore previous sailing experience is required. Sailing in both the Holder 14 & the Capri 16.5, this class teaches more advanced sailing techniques as well as racing strategies. It is both fun and challenging.

11 to 16 Year Olds (Catamaran)
Catamaran Sailing is a specialized study in Hobie Cat sailing. This class involves more advanced sailing techniques, and therefore requires completion of our Sailing II class or the equivalent. Boat rigging, hull flying and trapeze work are all taught and practiced. At the end of the class, students will be able to safely handle a Hobie Cat.

11 to 16 Year Olds (Kayak)
Campers will learn the basic strokes and also safety of kayaking and then we will tour the bay as a group and explore wildlife both above and below the water. Kayaking is a great way for kids to get out on the water, explore nature AND also get some good physical activity as well.
Kayaks of the past were made of wood and were relatively unstable and difficult to maneuver. Today, kayaks are stable, comfortable and also safe for beginners and kids. They are harder to overturn, and easier to maneuver, and depending on the age of your children you can choose from single and double kayaks.

11 to 16 Year Olds (Surf)
Students are introduced to the basic fundamentals and technical skills of surfing. Above all, this class also teaches ocean and beach awareness, therefore students learn safety on the water. Additionally, the more experienced surfers are helped to improve their technique and also develop new skills. Boards are provided or personal boards may also be used. Due to the conditions of the surf zone, students must be strong swimmers and very comfortable in the ocean.

14 to 16 Year Olds (Multi-Sports)
